Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Learn more about the types of projects we undertake, the areas we serve and our experience with concrete pool construction.
We design and build custom concrete pools, spas, vanishing-edge pools and integrated water features. We also complete major pool reconstructions, structural repairs, interior resurfacing, tile replacement and equipment upgrades.
Yes. Our work includes completely new pool construction as well as substantial renovations and reconstructions. For existing pools, we first assess the structure, plumbing, finishes and mechanical systems before recommending the appropriate scope of work.
Oasis Pools serves Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto, Hamilton, Ancaster, and surrounding communities throughout Southern Ontario. Project availability may vary depending on the location and the scope of work.
Oasis Pools specializes exclusively in custom concrete pool construction. Concrete provides greater structural strength, design flexibility and long-term repairability than a vinyl liner system. It also allows us to incorporate custom depths, steps, benches, spas, vanishing edges and water features directly into the pool structure. Because vinyl liners can tear, fade and require periodic replacement, they do not align with the permanent, highly customized pools we build.
Services and Construction
Answers about our construction methods, custom features, repairs and technically complex pool systems.
A concrete pool is built on site and can be customized in shape, depth, elevation and finish. It also allows features such as integrated spas, beach entries, vanishing edges, custom steps, benches and structural water features to be incorporated directly into the design.
Yes. We design, construct and reconstruct vanishing-edge systems, including the weir wall, catch basin, surge capacity, hydraulic circulation and edge finishes. These projects require careful structural and mechanical coordination to achieve consistent water flow.
Yes, in most cases. The existing pool structure, plumbing layout, equipment capacity and surrounding elevations must first be evaluated. More extensive additions may require partial reconstruction to properly integrate the new feature.
Concrete pools can be finished with materials such as marbelite, exposed aggregate, terrazzo, porcelain tile or glass tile. The right finish depends on the desired appearance, budget, water chemistry requirements and the condition of the underlying pool structure.
Pricing and Payments
General information about project pricing, proposals, estimates and construction payment schedules.
Pricing depends on the pool’s size, design, site conditions, finishes, mechanical systems and included features. Vanishing edges, integrated spas, complex elevations and premium materials can significantly affect the overall cost. We provide project-specific pricing after discussing the scope and reviewing the property.
We begin with an initial consultation to learn about the property, project requirements and intended budget. Depending on the complexity of the project, additional design, engineering or investigative work may be required before final pricing can be prepared.
Our proposals outline the defined construction scope, materials, finishes, equipment and major project allowances. Any exclusions or owner-supplied items are also identified so that the responsibilities of each party are clear.
Payments are generally divided into scheduled installments tied to major stages of construction. The exact payment schedule is outlined in the project agreement before work begins.
Project Management
What to expect during construction, including scheduling, site coordination, supervision and project completion.
Construction timelines vary based on the design, permitting, site access, weather, material availability and project complexity. A detailed schedule is developed once the design and scope have been finalized.
Each project is coordinated by the Oasis Pools team from excavation through commissioning. Steve Selinger and Greg Selinger, the owners, are hands-on and manage every project. We manage our construction crews, specialized trades, material deliveries and the sequencing of the pool-related work.
Yes. Pool construction often needs to be coordinated with landscaping, grading, retaining walls, outdoor structures, electrical work and other site improvements. We can work alongside the homeowner’s architect, designer, engineer or general contractor.
Before handover, the pool is filled, equipment is started and the major systems are reviewed. We provide guidance on operating the equipment, caring for the new finishes and maintaining appropriate water chemistry.
